Wrapping up February

Parent conferences went smoothly for those that were able to attend.  It always is a lot of work making sure I'm ready, and then a lot of hours meeting and discussing progress.  I'm happy to say that ALL of my students are making progress in some way.  I have a good number of behavior challenges going on right now which is timely considering I just attended a workshop on "Just in Time Behavior Management" and next week I am going to a conference on "Preschool Applications of RtI".  I'm hopeful that I'll have even more insight and ideas on how to manage the happenings in my room.

My action research paper has been resubmitted to my peer partner and facilitators, and although I am done collecting data for it my staff at school is almost fully on the bandwagon of using technology to collaborate.  This last week the Kindergarten staff began implementation of Facebook and having their website directly feed posts to their parents.  I stepped in with some technological skills, but I also left them to consider some areas of caution with safety and security.

  1. Facebook in the classroom? Not sure that I would want to use this in the classroom. Do you use it with your class?

    1. For some reason, this is posting as a reply rather than a comment. . .

It's great to see SOME sort of growth in all of your students. Sometimes it can be hard to find, and I think I need to spend some time thinking about the hidden progress of some of my students.
