At our school, the board policy for early entrance is that the
parents have to ask the board for permission to allow early entrance.
Before accepting the student, the school district is to screen the
child.
In the past 4 years, roughly one child a year has been allowed early
entrance regardless of the staff recommendation. It is speculation that
the district (board and administration) are more concerned with money
and getting the children in early than what is in the best interest of
the child.
